Here you will find an overview of the answers to frequently asked questions about VeloCity Berlin.

Registration

For the 60 km is the minimum age 16 years and for the 100 km plus, the riders must be 18 years or older.

After successful registration you will receive a confirmation by e-mail. You will also find an overview of your registration and booking for VeloCity Berlin in your user account under "My registrations".

To change to another event, please contact us via the contact form.

Please note: We charge a processing fee of 5 € for the transfer to another event. In addition, you will have to pay any difference to the currently valid price level of your new discipline.

 

  • A team registration for VeloCity Berlin is possible for min. 5 to max. 8 persons. Each team member needs a separate user account for the registration.
  • The team registrant starts his registration and selects "create a team" in the registration process and enters a team name. A TEAM code is sent with the registration confirmation, which can be passed on to 7 other team members.
  • Each team member starts their own registration and selects "join a team by code" in the registration process and enters the TEAM code there.
  • Please note: The entire team starts from the same starting block. In this case, the lowest average speed is used as the reference. 
  • A registered team with less than 5 team members will be changed to individual registrations after the registration deadline. 

 

Please do not enter the TEAM code in the "Access code" field on the start page of your user account. 

The TEAM code must be entered within the registration, after selecting "join a team by code". To join a team, start your registration by clicking on the VeloCity Berlin 2023 event tile on the start page of your user account

 

To join an existing team at a later date, please contact us via the contact form, stating the team code and the team name

 

No, each participant needs his/her own personal user account to register for the event. Both the user account and the booked entry are personal und non-transferable. 

We are sad we won't be able to welcome you at VeloCity Berlin this year!

We ask for your understanding that due to the high logistical and organisational effort of the event, participation fees cannot be reimbursed by us. Further information can be found in our conditions of participation (§6.2).

If you booked a cancellation insurance when you registered, you can claim it in your user account (under My Registrations > VeloCity Berlin).

Unfortunately, transfers to another person or another year are not possible. Your starting place is bound to a specific person and event. 
 

 

We will be happy to correct any incorrect numbers or typos in your name or date of birth. Simply contact us via the contact form and we will edit your data.

Please note: A participant transfer (complete name change) is not possible!

► Your address has changed? You can edit this yourself in your user account under "My account". 

We recommend booking insurance to cover the participation fee. A refund of the participation fee from our side is not possible.

The insurance can only be booked directly at the time of registration and not subsequently.

Before the start

The race material pick up is at the VeloCity Berlin EXPO, on the Strasse des 17. June, between the Victory Column and the Brandenburg Gate 

Opening times:
Friday June 30, 2023 from 2pm to 8pm
Satuday, July 01, 2023 from 10 am to 7pm

 

 

 

On presentation of the Start-Card (wich you will receive by e-mail approx 7-10 days before the event) and a Photo ID. 

► The pick up is also possible for other persons with a power of attorney, a copy of a Photo-ID and the Start-Card.

Your race material include:

  • a backnumber
  • a handlebar number
  • a Seatpost time keeping transponder
  • safety pins
  • cable ties

The start and finish area is on the Strasse des 17. Juni between the Victory Column and the Brandeburger Gate. 

 

At best you should use the public transportation.

The subway stations Friedrichstraße, Potsdamer Platz and the main station (S-Bahn, U-Bahn and regional train) are within walking distance (10-15 minutes) form the event site. 

► Please keep in mind to buy a ticket for your bike, too, if you choose to travel by train.

If you plan to get there by car, please note that there are no parking spaces available and there will be traffic disruptions due to the closures of the race track.

The classification is based on the average speed you provide at the registration. This information can be changed in your user account under "My Registrations".

We will inform you fo your allocation to the starting block with your Start Card (you will recieve ut by e-mail approx 7-10 days before the event).

After that, changes to the starting block cannot be made!

All riders of a team start will start from the same starting block. This block will be assigned acording to the lowest registered average speed. 

 

Do you feel more comfortable in a starting block consisting only of women? Then decide for the women´s starting block. 

Simply line up in the designated women´s starting block on the day of the event. 

Please refer to the regulations under "Bicycle and accesories".

 

If you have chosen "Clothing drop-off" when registering, you can drop off your belongings.
Without the booking, the drop off is not possible. 

On the Sunday of the event there will be a bike service on site for the last little checks before the start. 

 

Toilets will be available for you at the start and finish area and at the refreshment station.

 

During the race

The minimum average speed for the 60 km is 23km/h

The minimum average speed at the 100 km plus is 26km/h

We offer the following refreshments:

  1. Start: small pre-start refreshment point (water, fruit).
  2. On the course: a refreshment point after approx. 30 km - fill up cups or bottles, ISO drink from Dextro, fruit. Here you can get off your bike for a short while. shake out your legs and catch your breath. There may be a second refreshment point for the 100 km plus distance. 
  3. Finish: water, ISO Drink from Dextro, gel or a bar from Dextro, fruit, tea if necessary and Erdinger Alkoholfrei. 

You do not have the option to change the distance during the race. 

 

All participants are obliged to dispose of their own waste and empty drinking bottles exclusively at the refreshments stations on the course or after the finish. 

 

Please help your fellow riders in case of a fall and warn other participants. As in normal road trafic please call 112.

Make sure you get out of the danger zone as quickly as possible or do not pose a danger on the course yourself. If possible, move to the side of the road in case of a fall. 

 

The wearing of a cycling-specific crash helmet is mandatory. The crash helmet must be made of solid material and must bear a test seal from an internationally recognised test centre sus as TÜV or SNELL. Other helmets such as ice hockey, equestrian, motorbike or airbag helmets are not permitted. 

 

Sound carriers of any kind or ear coverings that can negatively influence acoustic perception and thus the ability to react in road traffic or in competition (e.g. MP3 players, mobile phones, headphones, earplugs) are prohibited. 

 

After the race

Absolutely! All finishers, within the time limit, will receive an exclusive medal. 

 

Showers will unfortunately not be available. 

 

It is a disposable transponder that does not have to be returned. 

 

Lost property will be collected at the Info Point during the event weekend. All lost property that is not collected on site will be held at the SCC-Events office. If you are missing something, pelase contact us by e-mail and provide us with a description of your lost item. 

 

You can find your result in the result list on the VeloCity Berlin event website under the menu item "EVENT INFO".

 

You can download your certificate from the results list on the VeloCity Berlin website. 

 

For the team classification, a distinction is made between the types of teams and the distance ridden. This results in the following team scores for each route:

  1. Men´s team ranking
  2. Women´s team ranking
  3. Mixed Team ranking

In the team classifications, the fastest 5 team members of each team will be scored.

If two teams have the same time, the better place of the first rider per team decides the placing-

Our partner Sportograf will take photos of all participants during the race. These can be viewed and purchased after the event via the results list.
