Event Update

May 25, 2022

Berlin will finally be hosting a national cycling event again. After years without any major cycling races, VeloCity - The Power of Berlin will take place on July 3rd. Establishing a new event is fraught with challenges, especially during the premiere year.

Even with the highest commitment and enthusiasm for an event, sometimes the organiser’s hands are tied when it comes to factors like city festivals, rail replacement traffic and route closures in a vital city like Berlin.

In response to these hurdles, we will now be offering a 60 km loop for VeloCity that will be closed to road traffic, but the 120 km distance has had to be reduced to 90 km. After discussions with all of the involved parties regarding the above-mentioned factors, this was unavoidable out of consideration for others and an effort to limit the duration of the road closures.

Instead of completing the 60 km loop twice for a 120-kilometre race, a new and attractive 30-kilometre piece will be added to the 60 km loop for a total race of 90 km.

All participants who were registered for the 120 kilometres have received an email from us with options and the procedure. If you don't find anything in your email inbox, please check your spam folder before contacting us via the contact form.
